December 1, 2009 Meeting

The December 1st meeting was called as a Special Session to the originally scheduled November 30th meeting. Only Unfinished and New Business dealing with SUFAC (Segregated University Fee Allocation Committee) appeals and budget action was addressed.

Unfinished Business

The Chinese Student and Scholarship Association appealed the allocated funds to their organization. CSSA is requesting $2,600 total to help fund events such as the Mood Festival Celebration, Chinese Spring Festival Celebration and a Mandarin language class offered to the community at Whitewater High School.

New Business

Members of the SUFAC committee joined us to hear the SUFAC appeals and action to be taken. Learn about SUFAC at http://www.uww.edu/involve/policy/sufac.php. On tonight’s agenda, new stipulations, the Homecoming Steering Committee, the Chinese Student and Scholarship Association and all other organizations were discussed.

12. Special Events Support: The funding of the Special Events Support Policy should be included in the non-allocable budget of the Leadership Center or the University Center.

13. Student Sustainability Fund (Sage): The SUFAC Committee has reviewed and tabled the funding request of the Student Sustainability Fund for 2010-11 to the Spring semester of 2010.

The Homecoming Steering Committee’s budget appeal was approved.

The Chinese Student and Scholarship Association’s budget appeal was approved for $600.

All other organization budget appeals were approved with discussion about Intercollegiate Athletics Men/Women and Latinos Unidos.
