March 29th’s meeting was fairly short. It included speakers Ms. M’Lyssa Hoops on the Invisible Children movement and Mr. Kevin Brunner about public service. The legislation S09-10:06 the Legislation Affairs Director Reform Act was passed 14-0. Tomorrow night at 6 in the DownUnder is the President/Vice President debate–BE THERE!! Speakers

Invisible Children: Rough Cut Screening – Ms. M’Lyssa Hoops

  • Ms. Hoops is part of the Invisible Children movement and is requesting help from WSG to promote the speakers coming on April 27th. A motion was made to table this issue to the Public Relations Committee to decide the best moves for WSG from here on out.
  • African Student Association, Black Student Union, PEACE and other organizations around campus are already part of helping make this event a big one!

City of Whitewater – Mr. Kevin Brunner, City Manager


  • Mr. Brunner suggests students interested in getting a career in public service get several internships dealing with public service.
  • Get in contact with him for more information on getting involved with public service!
  • Mr. Brunner is currently looking for a Summer Intern, the city is also looking for other interns. Apply here!!

Elections: Mr. Cody Horlacher
Meetings are every other Thursday at 5 p.m. outside the office, UC 140

  • Senators may not work the polls for the district they represent.
  • Format for the debate is 5 questions selected by the Elections Committee and Q/A from the audience attending.
  • TOMORROW is the Pres/VP Debate at 6 p.m. in the DownUnder

Faculty Senate: Sen. Elvisa Pasic
Next meeting is April 6th, 2:15 p.m., UC Ballroom

  • The Chancellor would like all the academic departments to update or rewrite their bylaws on choosing their directors.
  • Purple Book: A book of files of all professors and their work and experiences. The way they’re running their classes. They’d like to make the Purple Book electronic. There are concerns on Security? Privacy? How reliable will that be? The Purple Book is the specific professor’s property, like a portfolio.

  • Working on getting a Speaker e-mail account to make things more clear for committee assignments.
